We call ourselves "Just For Seniors." Well, this is not entirely true. This information is not only for senior citizens, but also for their loved ones.....the sons, daughters, grandchildren, and others that are so very concerned about maintaining the quality of life and the well-being of our aging population. This aging population is growing. Right now, the majority of this population consists of babies born during The Great Depression of the 1930s. Soon, this aging population will be swelled enormously by those folk that were born during World War II and especially after WW II ended in 1945-1946. These people are 60 years or older .....some approaching retirement age, others that are now actually retired.
Here is an excellent opportunity to set up and run many webconferencing sites that will deal with all aspects of senior living. As a matter of fact, the senior citizens will not only be the subject of discussion …they will be a part of the discussion. Senior citizens are not as removed from the current technological trends as one might think. They know how to operate and maintain computers, navigate on the web, set up and run blogs …anything the younger generation can do on the computer, the senior citizens can do also. This is why secure webconferencing presents such an outstanding opportunity for senior citizens to be a part of the information superhighway.
Right now, there are articles on the Web that encompass everything from how to downsize a household, how to handle financial affairs, how to choose a retirement facility in which to live, how to handle Medicare and Medicaid, and where and how to get help concerning a multitude of questions.
Here are some of the categories that would make for interesting webconferencing for senior citizens
- Choosing a retirement community
- Where to find nursing care services
- Transportation issues
- Appliances or devices in the household designed to help the physically impaired
- Senior Citizen advocacy groups and organizations (AARP, the Seniors Coalition, etc.)
- Activities in the community of interest to senior citizens
- Employment possibilities after retirement
- Getting along with your offspring after you've retired
- Choosing a pet as a companion
- Choosing a nursing home
